She cleverly worked increases and decreases into the pattern that allows the seed stitch boarder to remain straight while they frame the waves of lace that flow back and forth. Designed for sport weight yarn but can be easily adapted to lace weight.

Traditional Estonian lace stitches create a garden with rows of small flowers bordered by lily of the valley and edged in a scalloped trellis. Wrap is 19" X 66", scarf is 10" by 66". Wrap requires 848yds of lace weight yarn, scarf requires 485 yds and size 5 US needles.

The Landscape Shawl & Scarf

Rows of eyelet separate chevrons of garter, seed, stockinette, moss and reverse stockinette stitches, creating a landscape of patterns on this shawl and scarf. Shawl requires 1,200 yards of lace weight yarn, 1,075 fingering weight, 900 sport weight, 775 DK weight and 700 yards worsted weight yarn. Scarf requires 200 yards of fingering weight yarn. Lorna's Laces yarn used in the pattern shown

 

Field of Flowers

A field of flowers is bordered by waves of old shale on this square, shetland style lace shawl or throw. The center square is worked back and forth in rows of garter lace. The border is picked up and knit in rounds and then bound off with a simple lace edging. Requires 525 yds of DK weight yarn in 4 colors or 1,200 yards of lace weight yarn (Helen's Lace used)

 

The Butterfly Garden

Lace butterflies soar above a border of blossoms on these square, garter stitch lace pieces. Knit from the center out in circular garter stitch lace and cast off in a simple picot edging. Requires the following yarns: Worsted throw 1,350yds, Sport wt shawl 1,100yds, Lace Scarf 930yds, Lace Shawl 1,700yds.

 

River Scarf and Stole

Inside a border of eyelet grass, rows of lace ripple like a river through the length of this lace weight scarf and stole. Requires 620 yds lace yarn for scarf and 1,240 yds of lace yarn for stole.

 

Lace Moebius Scarf

A Moebius garment has only one surface and only one edge! Intriguing to knit, this geometric 'oddity' makes a beautiful, functional scarf. Yarn requirements: 450 yards of a soft, fingering weight yarn and size 7 needles.

 

Lacy Accents

Three easy lace scarves which will create a whole wardrobe of scarves for you. Designed for light weight yarns, these patterns can easily be knit in heavier gauge yarns.
